Watching her move around the bushes, he watched as she made the sled for him to get on. He was worrying about her, and he felt guilty. He should be doing more, but it was impossible with his leg the way it was. As she walked back, he noticed the way her ribs moved, and he was hit with another pang of worry. She was in pain, and he had no clue how to help.
Slowly getting onto the sled, he clenched his teeth as pain shot through his leg. "Your ribs.. They're moving oddly... How much pain are you actually in?"
He could smell the snow on its way as well, and he puffed his fur out a bit. He forced down panic. They were stranded out in the woods, both injured, and snow was on its way. If they didn't get back to camp soon, they'd both be crowfood...

She stopped and looked at the male before her. Was this the same cat that she had come out into the forest with? She knew that it was, and yet the feeling that came off of him was completely different. The edge of annoyance was gone, and it was replacd with something that she was not quite sure of, could it be worry? She shook it off, it didn't matter at the moment, she had to get them out of here.
She took her place at the front of the 'sled' and stepped into the vines that made her harness to pull it with. She took amoment before she answered his question, choosing to avoid it rather than answer directly. If she did answer it truthfuly, the answer would be almost to the point of passing out, but neither of them could afford for her to give in at the moment.
"Does it matter? We have to get home and you can't walk. Don't worry, I'll get us there."
She began to pull against the weight of the sled. It was slow going and it took all that she had in her, but she knew that if she did not get them home, they would both freeze in the night, and truthfully she hoped that she would be able to call him a friend as of now.
They were almost home when she had to stop. Her breath came in short shallow gasps. The pain in her side ripped through her chest as if somone had lit a fire there. She knew that she had to push on, but she just had to rest here for a moment. She let the harness slacken against her body and drop to the ground in front of her, and then let her attention fall to the male.
"Are you doing alright? I have to rest for a moment. I... can't breathe..."
She sat beside him and let her uninjured side rest agains his uninjured side. She knew that he was probably cold, and she was warm from the effort that she had put into pulling the sled and wanted to share her heat.

Hearing her reply, he immediately knew she was in worse pain then she was letting on. Although he wanted to say something, he kept his mouth shut. She would just deny any pain she was in. He knew something was wrong with her ribs, although he didn't know what.
As they started moving, he watched her carefully. If she collapsed, he was going to force himself up and help her, no matter what. He shivered as a cold breeze blew across him, and he fluffed his fur out a bit.
Once they were close to the camp, he noticed her breathing was quite different. He wasn't a medicine cat, but he knew something was certainly wrong. He watched as the harness dropped to the ground, then as she asked her question, he nodded.
"I'm fine... Take as long as you need. Don't push yourself."
He was slightly surprised at her warmth when she rested against it, but he wasn't complaining. He looked at her worriedly, hoping that when they got back, she was going to be okay. At this point, he couldn't even feel his leg anymore. But he didn't care about that. He just wanted Brindlefoot to be okay.

Brindlefoot relaxed for a moment and then got to her feet again. She took her place at the head of the sled and lifted the harness to her shoulders and began to pull again. As she pulled them along, the flakes began to drift down around them, slow and sparkling in the last of the twilight. She stopped for a moment and looked up at the sky.
She pulled faster and harder despite his telling her to take her time. She was going to keep him safe no matter what it did to her.
After what seemed like an eternity, she could finally see the entrance to the camp ahead of them. She pulled the slead through the camp and straight to the medicine cat's den, there was no time to waste, she had to get him taken care off, that's all that mattered now. When the medicine cat walked up to them, she denied that there was anything wrong with her and pushed the attention onto the male that was with her.
The world was spinning around her, and as soon as the medicine cat was tending to him, she couldn't hang on any longer. The world swam before her eyes and started to close in, in a matter of a few moments, the world went black and she was falling....

As they pulled through the camp, relief swam through him. They were home, and everything was going to be fine now. Hearing the medicine cat say nothing was wrong with Brindlefoot, his fur started to bristle. He knew something was wrong.
"Hey, listen up here-"
As he started talking, he saw Brindlefoot staggering a bit, and he closed his mouth. His eyes widened in horror as she collapsed.
"Help her!"
He looked at the medicine cat pleadingly. Brindlefoot was in worse shape then him, and if she didn't get help soon, something worse was going to happen to her.

The world swam in darkness around her, all was dark, but she still had a sense of hearing. She heard him yell and the fear in his voice cut through her. She had to pull herself together and dispell his fear, she didn't want him to be scared. She struggled and pushed to get through the fog of darkness. Slowly she pulled herself through.
"Don't worry... I'm... okay."
She could feel the worry coming off of him, and wanted to do all that she could to make him happier. She tried to get to her feet, but fell back to the ground, too weak to stand. A weak growl of irritation eminated from her throat, but was cut off as she pulled air painfully into her lungs.
"Come here, listen close to my heart. It's ok, I'm not going anywhere."

Relief flooded through him as he saw her getting back up, but he was still worried out of his mind. He nodded after she spoke, he stood up, wincing slightly, then making sure to keep his leg off the ground, he slowly limped to her side.
"You're really hurt... Even I know that..."
He glanced at the medicine cat with narrowed eyes as he said that, anger rising in his chest. How stupid was a medicine cat if they didn't even know that Brindlefoot was injured!
"Tell me exactly... What hurts the most...? If this excuse for a medicine cat isn't going to help you, maybe I could ask WindClan or RiverClan's medicine cat for help..."
He watched her worriedly, determined to make sure she got the help she needed.

"He will help, give him a chance, he was only doing what I asked him to."
She nodded to the medicine cat and let him come and look at her. She knew that there would be no peace untill she did. He gave her poppy seeds and cleaned and wrapped her wounds. The last thing that he took care of was her ribs, they were the worst. All of the ribs on that side of her body were broken, and she was so cold. Shivers rocked through her body and cause even more pain.
The medicine cat bound her chest tight with some cloth that one of the patrols had found in the woods a while ago and told her to stay out of the action and rest for a couple of weeks. No carrying things and as little walking and movement as possible. He gave her another dose of poppy seeds and then sent her to her den.
"No, not untill you take care of him." She nodded at her friend.

Watching the medicine cat take care of her, relief flooded through him. He would make sure that she followed the medicine cat's orders. Hawkgaze nodded back at Brindlefoot.
"I'm fine, honestly. I'm just glad you'll be okay..."
He noticed her shivering beside him, and he pressed close to her, hoping that would somewhat warm her up.
"Take the poppy seeds. You need them."

She lapped up the sees, but refused to move untill the medicine cat had looked him over.
After being told that she had done a good job with the splint and that it should heal well the way that it was now, if he stayed off of it, she relaxed. The seeds had not taken effect yet, she knew that she had to get them to the warriors den before they did. She was freezing, it had been a long time since she had been in the warmth of the den.
She got carefully to her feet and stood on his uninjured side and helped him to his feet as well. She went carefully helpe them both to the den, and then helped him to his nest. The den was empty, all of the other cats were up and about, but it looked like they were confined to the den for a while with nothing other than eachother for company.
She helped him into his nest and the hesitated, she wanted to stay close to his warmth, but her nest was a waise away. She looked at it and then back to him.
