NAME// --- Copperstar
AGE// --- 36 moons
GENDER// --- she-cat
CLAN// --- WindClan
DESIRED POSITION// --- Leader
SHORT DESCRIPTION// --- Dark ginger tabby she-cat with pale green eyes
DESCRIPTION//
--- Copperstar is a young she-cat with a dark ginger pelt with thick, dark red tabby bands. She is a neat, agile cat with a round head, striking pale green eyes, and long legs to help her sprint across the moor as fast as any rabbit. Her fur is thicker than usual for a WindClan cat, and lightens a bit on the inside of her lower legs, where she has distinctive stripes. Her paws are small, but quite tough.
PERSONALITY//
--- Copperstar is a stern, determined, and proud cat. As a new leader, she can be rather insecure, and is often unsure of herself and her abilities. She hides this from her clan and the other leaders as best she can, focusing her efforts on keeping her clan safe and strong. Her blunt honesty and her willingness to speak her mind make her seem rude, but she is not mean or malicious in nature. She constantly worries that the other clans will take any opportunity they find to bully, take advantage of, or even invade WindClan, and so can get very defensive. She is not afraid to defend her clan with tooth and claw if diplomacy doesn't work. Though she can sometimes act rashly, she genuinely cares about her clan. She is still getting used to being a leader instead of just deputy, and tries to act like she is just another warrior. She has a soft spot for kits and apprentices, and enjoys little more than teaching and helping them in any way she can.
EXPERIENCE//
--- Copperkit was always a bright-eyed, ambitious young cat. Tough she would often boss around her sister, Kestrelkit, the two were best of friends and were always quite close. She trained diligently and eagerly during her apprenticeship, trying to impress her mentor, a senior warrior named Grayfoot, every chance she got. Grayfoot taught her to hone her energy into diligence by drawing on her pride in WindClan and faith in StarClan to give her strength. Copperpaw took his lessons to heart, and by the time she became a warrior, she had already earned a reputation for her dedication to her clan. Because of this, she received her first apprentice soon after completing her own training. Copperfur discovered that she had a passion for mentoring, and did her best to pass on all the skills that Grayfoot had taught her. Sadly, just after her apprentice was named a warrior, a group of rogues began lurking at WindClan's borders, attacking any cat they saw. When the former leader, Applestar, launched an attack on the rogues, WindClan quickly discovered that they were massively outnumbered. Though WindClan managed to drive the rogues off, the casualties were heavy. Among them were the deputy, Oneleaf, Copperfur's old mentor Grayfoot, her former apprentice, and her sister Kestrelwhisker's old mentor Sedgetail. Even Applestar himself was gravely wounded, having lost his second to last life in the attack. Copperfur had rushed over to her leader, defending him as best she could while he was recovering. Just before moonhigh that night, Applestar emerged from his den and named Copperfur his deputy in recognition of her quick thinking and dedication to her clan. A few moons later, Applestar finally lost his last life while defending some kits from a hawk. Copperfur was heartbroken over Applestar's death, as it caused her to recall the loss and pain she had felt losing her mentor and former apprentice in the battle with the rogue, and vowed never to let another WindClan life be taken if she could prevent it. Throughout all this, Copperfur remained close with her sister, Kestrelwhisker. Though she hides her lack of confidence in her leadership abilities from the rest of her clan, she knows that she can always go to her sister for reassurance and support.

("Copper-" has appeared in canon as the name of a RiverClan apprentice in the allegiances of a few books in the third series)
Copperstar crouched atop Outlook rock, her figure silhouetted against Silverpelt as she slowly swished her tail over the smooth stone. She narrowed her pale green eyes in an effort to pick out any movement below her and silently grumbled about all the trees. She'd never understand how any of the other clans could stand to live where they couldn't see a tail-length in front of their own noses. But Fourtrees wouldn't be Fourtrees if it weren't in a forest, and Copperstar was just grateful that they didn't have to go through too much of it to get there. Down below, she managed to pick out some shapes moving in the clearing, and opened her mouth to scent them.
RiverClan.
She gave a small snort as she closed her mouth. At least Wolfstar seemed the least likely to claw her ears off, though that didn't mean she felt any more at ease around the huge tom. She couldn't quite put her paw on it, but she had the feeling that, if provoked, he would be more than capable of rampaging through any warrior he liked. She clenched her jaw, refusing to be intimidated, and raised her tail to signal her clan. As one, WindClan poured down into Fourtrees, with Copperstar holding her head high at the front.
