The grass rustled in the distance as a creature with brown, black, orange, and tabby stripes moved gently through the grass. As she creep closer on the creature that so happen to been place in her path. The 8 moon apprentice was no bigger than a 4 moon kit, and could easily move around without being spotted of disrupting too much unlike like the bigger cats. Her pale-green eyes were narrowed as she watched the creature nibble away on a nut. The creature in which Hollypaw was hunting was a mouse. Something she could easily catch.
Hollypaw tried to remember all her training. She crouched down low to the ground as close to the ground as without actually touching it. She slowly moved forward, watching where the young she-cat placed her paws. She moved like lighting when she got close enough and pounced on the creature, only missing it by a paw step. The chase was on, not that Hollypaw minded; she was fast and loved running. She bolted after the creature.
As the creature ducked under a root, Hollypaw followed. She locked her jaws on the critter, the same time became wedged between the ground and he root. She quickly ended the mouse’s life and set a silent thank you to Starclan. Then, while pushed the mouse out of the way so she wouldn’t trample it, she tried pushing herself out of the roots, unsuccessfully. She let out an yowl for help. ”Help! I am stuck…again!” She called out.

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) Brindlefoot woke with the morning sun. As she opened her eyes, she pulled herself to her paws and padded out of the warriors den. As she pushed through the litchen and out into the morning, she took in the beauty that was before her. The early morning light filtered into the clearing that was empty for the moment; dappling it all in golden light. As she turned her eyes to the sky, her breath almost caught in her throat. The heavens were several shades of pink and violet, sprinkled with a dusting of stars that looked like diamonds against velvet.
The she-cat passed silently out of the camp and into the forest. She took in a deep breath and savored the scents that danced on her palate. She could smell the dew that lay on the grass, and the small critters that skittered here and there among the undergrowth. As Brindlefoot looked around her, a small brown body crept out of hiding and into her line of sight. Carefully she crouched down and began to follow it through the forest.
It wasn't long before she caught the scent of another cat on the breeze. She searched through her memory and recognized the shent as Hollypaw, an apprentice of her clan. Smiling to herself, Brindlefoot sat back and watched to see what the younger cat would do. She didn't have to wait long before she saw the action that was to unfold. The smaller cat had a good technique, keeping low to the ground, and staying downwind from her prey. When Holypaw leapt, she fell just short of her target, but she regained her composure and went after the small body.
Brindlefoot knew that Hollypaw was in trouble when she went under the root instead of over it. After the apprentice caught the mouse, she tried to get free, and when she couldn't called out. Brindlefoot laughed to herself, and stepped out of hiding. She came around in front of the young one and leaned down so that her face was on the same level as Hollypaws.
"Would you like a paw?"
Brindle went back behind the kit, and grabbed her by the scruff and pulled her free. She then sat down, curled her tail around her paws, and smiled at the apprentice.

As she heard another cat present she let out a sigh of relief. Then, she smelt Brindlefoot and smiled, “Yes please!” She yelped as the other she-cat pulled her out. As she was freed she an over and grabbed her mouse. “I may have gotten stuck, but I caught the mouse! That’s all that matters!” She mewed then realized she was missing some of her tuffs of fur She grunted before licking her fur to cover missing spots. Afterward she went to licking the extra bark and dirt from her pelt. She had to look her best in case an other clan cat came into their territory. She could not look like a rift rat.
Then, she looked back at the other cat and purred, “Lucky you came around and not a badger! I mean I know I could have taken him on!” She puffed up and really believed she could, even more so with her being so small. The tiny calico stood up on all four and she barely came to the warriors shoulder. “I am Thunderclan after all! No one can beat us, right Brindlfoot?” Hollypaw purred with excitement.

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) Brindlefoot let out a small laugh at the sight of the smaller cat fluffed up and trying to act big. Her golden orbs watched the kitten bounce on her paws in excitement and her whiskers twitched with amusement. When she spoke her voice was warm with affection and full of humor. Reaching out she ruffled the fluff on the top of the little cat's head.
"You may have caught your mouse, but I think the tree did a good job of catching you! You should be glad that no one else found you, they might laugh and just leave you here... Or a badger could come and chew your tail off, then what would you do hmm? Next time try to go over roots, not through them. Good job though."
In a sudden spark of childishness, Brindle jumped to her feet and pounced on the ball of fluff that was Hollypaw. She landed squarely on her back and pinned her to the ground, laughing all the while. Brindle rasped her tongue across the apprentice's ears a few times before letting her up.
"And be prepared for anything!"

Hollypaw giggled at the fact the tree did catch her. Then, nodded, she was lucky that her mentor had come along, instead of some other creature. She smiled gently, “I guess I would have been in a little trouble if a badger came, only a little though! I’ll look out for roots now on and try not going under them anymore,” Hollypaw promised as she sat down. She reeled back on two paws, “But I could have kicked him in the face and pushed myself out then reel back on my hind legs like this, and swipe his face nonstop!” She purred.
Then, as the she-cat tackled her and licked her ears she tried wiggling out. “I am an apprentice not a kit! I groom myself, Brindlefoot!” Hollypaw mewled as she chuckled. As soon as Brindlefoot let her go and spoke her piece, Hollypaw went and wrapped her paws around Brindlefoot neck and playfully grabbed her stuff with her teeth. “Ysa nwevr lwet ywour gwuarwd down!” She mewled between her fur and teeth.

regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) Brindlefoot laughed at the apprentice and her play fight with imaginary badgers. She used to be the same way when she was younger, though she had lacked that much energy. Brindle laughed even harder when Hollypaw said that she was not a kit, young cats always in such a hurry to get old.
She sat still and let her apprentice gnaw on her ears for a moment before knocking her off onto her back and batting her lightly on the head.
"Didn't anyone teach you to respect your elders? Maybe thats what we need to learn next hmm? We can do that and practice your fightiing skills all at the same time. Come on!"
Brindle bounded off into the forest on the way to the Sandy Hollow where they did all of their fight training. When she got there, she climbed into the lower brances of a tree that formed the hollow and waited for Hollypaw. She wanted to see if the younger cat would know how to track her into the strange hiding place, and what she would do if she thought that her mentor was missing.
