DESCRIPTION//

Aspenkit is a light brown tabby she-cat, to put it in simple terms. The main color on her pelt is the light brown seen mostly on her paws, face, and stomach. The rest of her back is a very dark brown, almost black in some areas, this is from the tabby stripes. Around her mouth and muzzle there is a cream color that can be found. This is the only spot on her body that is without the tabby markings and that light brown color. Her fur still has that downy kit fur feel to it, and looks very soft. In all actually, It is very soft and is quite easy to groom. Aspenkit’s green eyes always are full of mischief and curiosity. If you see them shining, she’s probably thinking of mischief that can be caused.

PERSONALITY//

Sarcastic, Cute, Persistent, Competitive

Aspenkit has what is called humorous sarcasm. It is intended more to be witty than cruel. What is most amusing is that most of the time she does not realize she is being sarcastic. Her one-liners that come out of her mouth always can be entertaining. Expect to laugh quite frequently with this little she-cat around. Like stated before her sarcasm isn’t meant to be cruel and it is used more out of habit than anything. Once she started, it was hard to stop so why quit when you are so far ahead? Her sarcasm is also a coping mechanism for her. It helps her express what she is really thinking rather than having all of her emotions bottled up.

One thing about Aspenkit is she is a very cute little kit, and she knows it. She has this way about her that she can work a crowd and get them to play to her every whim. The cuteness she uses to help her be quite a manipulative little kit. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to use that cute charm to get it. Now her manipulative ways aren’t to the point of being evil, but if not watched carefully this kit could go down that path. Right now it is pure innocent, harmless, fun.

The kit is quite persistent and wants everything to go according to her plans. When it comes to something she really wants, expect for her to keep trying and trying until she finally gets what she wants. She will not be the first to cave, she makes sure of it. Aspenkit keeps going until she has won. This also includes arguments. She will argue her way until she wins, possibly confusing herself and everyone around her in the process. Though she has this trait, she is not to the point of being egotistical and full of herself. She just has the drive to win.

Aspenkit loves play-fighting, practicing with apprentices, etc. Something to keep this kit busy is a good idea. She thrives on competition and has little patience. When she is under pressure to do something is when she is at her best. Stress is the best motivator for her. She loves to go all out and just go until she cannot give anything else. This can cause her to just pass out from exhaustion, which is her greatest weakness. She does not know when to quit. She may be small, but she doesn’t see herself that way. She thinks of herself as big as every other kit in the nursery.

With her speech impediment, Aspenkit struggles with not being completely normal. She tries her best to get others to understand what she is saying and gets frustrated sometimes when they give her ‘that look’, the look of confusion. She has been known to go without talking, due to embarrassment. She does need to be reassured quite a bunch when it comes to her speech and has to be encouraged to speak. Sometimes she finds it easier just to point to what she wants with her tail. It saves everyone else time and her the embarrassment.

EXPERIENCE//

Some cats are lucky when they are born, others are not. This is the tale of a cat who has suffered from day one. She’s faced each day one paw at a time. It begins with her parents already having a litter of kits, only three moons old at the time when they found out they were having another litter. But sadly the first hardship began when her mother went into premature labor. The first two kits were stillborn, and then came the little she-kit. Born over half a moon early, this she-cat would be born into such a loving family but seemed as if she would struggle. Her siblings were the ones to name her, giving her the name Aspenkit. She fought to survive and was sick so much. It also didn't help that her mother died shortly after giving birth to her and her father abandoned them, not wanting to deal with a sickly kit. Luckily there was a queen who had just lost a litter of her own kits that could raise her.

It was soon found out that being premature gave her another struggle. The age when most kits speak for the first time came and went for little Aspenkit. She was doing good at this point to just stay alive. But when she finally did begin speaking….something was off. Her words were hard to understand, even after a moon of speaking, and she just could not say some words. She would end up pointing to what she wanted, her tail became her friend. Aspenkit does not see herself as small and weak. She sees herself just like any other kit. It is rare for her to be out of the nursery, in fear she will get some sort of disease that her body is too weak to fight off [mostly because she is overprotected and not allowed to go out of camp]. She absolutely loves her big sister and tries to follow Juniperkit wherever she goes.

OTHER//

Due to her early birth, she wasn't as lucky as some and suffers from delayed speech. She has trouble speaking and at times it is hard for her to say what she wants. For example: She may be saying 'fish' but she wants to 'play'. She also has trouble just speaking in general. She doesn't stutter, some words are just hard for her to say, especially syllables. [She refers to herself as Apenkid, instead of Aspenkit...and her brothers as Ookid [Sootkit] and Eegykid [Eaglekit]. Her sister is known as Iperkid [Juniperkit]. She also is small and quite weak, though she won't admit it.
